If Gareth Bale was ever to prove his worth at Real Madrid, now is the time. With Cristiano Ronaldo serving a 3 game suspension, Bale has been tasked with ensuring the team continues their winning ways and stay top of La Liga.?On Saturday, Bale bagged the first goal in Real’s 4-2 win and played a big part in the victory.
But more interestingly, he switched up his boots again….wearing his third different pair in a few short weeks! Obviously pro players are chopping and changing their boots all the time, but what is interesting is the format the Welshman has taken.
During Real’s January 25th win vs Granada, Bale was wearing the Samba version of the F50 adiZero. The F50 Samba Edition is the latest release in the F50 series and it features a lot of modifications compared to previous models. It is a boot that Bale had been wearing for several weeks and things seemed to be going swimmingly.
Then midweek, we were introduced to a completely new, as yet unreleased, boot during a Real Madrid training session. The highly colorful boot is said to be the new F50 Crazylight, set for imminent release on the market. It seems like Adidas wanted to get some intro coverage on the new boot and the media (including us) obliged. The Crazylight is set to be limited edition, and rumor has it the boot is modeled somewhat after the ground-breaking 99gram prototype boot?that Adidas introduced to us last summer. That is 3.5oz in case you were wondering! We don’t expect it to be anywhere that light, but it is possible that this is a mid-point release, where Adidas get to test the waters.
Finishing his week of training and then into this weekend, Bale stepped back in time and took to wearing the previous model of the F50 adiZero, in the?Electricity/Hero Ink/Metallic Silver colorway. These were the boots he wore when he was introduced to and made his debut for Real. His decision to do switch to this version could be based on several reasons but whatever the reason is, he looked very comfortable in them. Maybe Bale wanted to revert to a boot he was having success with when he joined Madrid, maybe it was a comfort issue, or maybe there is some correlation between the performance offered by the Crazylight and the older model of the adiZero.

We don’t have an answer to this one, but what we do know is there is something exciting on the horizon coming from the 3-stripe and our friend Gareth Bale will be front and center when it all drops! Stay tuned.
Final note, check out the boots?¨¢lvaro Morata was wearing in training this week. It seems like he snagged a pair of the F50 adiZero Yamamoto and decided they would be better to wear than keep as a collectors edition. Oh, the advantages of being a pro player!
